That Dress

Everyone has that one outfit or piece of clothing that makes them feel good about themselves. I tend to mostly wear dresses because I feel the most confident yet comfortable in them.

At the beginning of Summer I went to see my sister and we did a bit of shopping. I found this dress on sale for 7€ and the last one was my size! Usually when I go sale shopping I can't find anything in my size anymore, but I guess that time I was lucky.

This dress is from a shop called New Yorker and the brand is FB Sister. Ever since I bought it I've found myself constantly wearing it.

In my opinion you can wear it all year around paired with different accessories. You can't wear it if it's boiling hot though since it's black/very dark brown and the material is kind of funny.

The first thing that caught my eye was - of course - the pattern on it. Everyone loves lipsticks and I think this dress is a fun way of showing it :D. As you can see from the photos it also has tiny unfilled hearts on it.

It's a skater shaped dress which only makes me love it even more as it looks great on my body shape and you don't have to worry if you eat a little too much while wearing it. :D

This definitely has been one of my best purchases as I've already worn it about a billion times. It's definitely one of my favourite dresses/clothes I own.

The Ultimate Concert Experience

Over a week ago on Saturday (23th of August) me and my best friend Sonja went to see a Finnish rapper called Cheek at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium with her aunt and cousin. He is the most famous rapper in Finland and Sonja got us tickets for my birthday present!
Cheek also had a gig on Friday and both of the shows were sold out! Overall 40 000 people packed into the stadium on both days just to see him perform for the last time before his well deserved break from music.
The stage show was absolutely incredible! I've never seen anything like that in my life. Cheek (his real name is Jare Henrik Tiihonen) had over 20 special guests - I think everyone who has ever featured a song with him took part in the show.
The photos aren't super good quality since we sat pretty far away from the stage and I really didn't want to concentrate on taking photos because I wanted to just enjoy the show :).

 For the last 20 minutes or so it started to rain pretty badly so that's why the programme is a bit wrinkled and I don't have a good photo of me or my clothes but here's a photo of my outfit anyways. As you can see from my jeans we got pretty wet and I've had a cold over a week because of that.

A Day On The Road + Special Surprise!

After spending the whole week helping my sister Anetta to recover from the jet lag she had because of her long flight from the US to Finland, me and my family - excluding my oldest sister - hopped on a car and headed towards the South coast of Finland.
We drove along the small countryside roads without any specific destination. It was great to spend some quality time away from the familiar streets of our hometown.

Seeing all the meadows, cows and farms pass by wasn't the plan of our trip though, so we followed the signs and ended up in a beautiful park with a little cafeteria - which was sadly closed - and some gorgeous old buildings!

We also found out that the park had the smallest stone church in Finland. It looked so lovely and chaste all alone up in the hill surrounded by trees and cliffs.

Being a still young and childlike pair of sisters, me and Anetta just had to try and climb on different things - me not succeeding so well as there weren't enough branches in the tree. Anetta - also called Ansku - wanted to climb on her own town sign instead!

What I Wore and a Bit Of TFIOS

I thought I'd do a quick post on what I wore yesterday to see The Fault In Our Stars with my best friend Sonja.
As you can tell from my previous post I absolutely love the book, but I think the direction of the movie wasn't as good as I hoped. There was just too many little important parts left out which really disappointed me. I loved how Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort acted as Hazel and Augustus though, since the characters were exactly like I imagined while reading the book and they connected really well.

For my outfit I wore a simple cream lace dress and white canvas sneakers both from H&M, some bracelets from Accessorize and a white vintage leather bag.

My Sweet 16

The Actual Day
A couple of weeks ago at the end of June I joined the magical age, 16.
On my birthday my mom and sister took me to Turku to spend my day at the Medieval Market which is Finland's largest medieval and historical event held every year at the Old Great Square. The idea of the market is that vendors all over Finland - and some abroad - come to sell all kinds of handicrafts at the stalls.
From the various collection of different jewellery, art, ornaments, medieval weapons like bows and arrows, daggers and swords, clothing and delicacies it was hard to choose which pieces you wanted. I decided to go for a beautiful Celtic necklace, two wooden spoons with a funny face and a caramel apple, yum!
We also visited Turku Castle since they had a special Middle Ages Day going on. They had a couple exclusive places open inside the castle where you could only go that day and an archery show which was super exciting!

A New Chapter

Hello and welcome to my blog!

Everyone needs a change in their lives from time to time. Some a few small ones, some a bigger one. For me that would mean starting the blog I've dreamed of for a while.

First a bit about me - I'm Anu, a 16 year old girl from Finland and I've just finished comprehensive school. Fashion and beauty have always been a big part of my life. Having older sisters means that even before I was in school there were multiple teenage fashion magazines open on the table, a makeup bag on the bathroom counter and me sitting in front of a mirror with my oldest sister doing my hair.

As I've always loved writing and everything related to beauty and fashion, about a year ago I thought "Hey, why not write about the things I love so others can enjoy it too?" and now, finally, here I am writing my first blog post. Me being a shopaholic will bring you the pleasure of following the latest trends and styles from my point of view with everything else I enjoy in life in general.
